How We Help

Support

The charity provides comprehensive support to seafarers encompassing housing with support and respite breaks & holidays. Our support team provides daily support to seafarers, giving advice and guidance in relation to a wide range of welfare benefits, assistance with emotional and health issues, access to employment and training opportunities and appropriate move-on options.

The support team are not on duty 24 hours a day, however in emergencies there always someone who can be contacted. Our bungalows and flats are fitted with a call out system which is operated by the local authority who will contact us once they have assessed the situation. Residents of other accommodation are provided with emergency pendants that page a message to someone who will provide support as needed.

Facilities

There are various facilities that resident and guests can access, including a licensed bar with darts and bar billiards, plus entertainment and quiz nights are organised from time to time. There is a residents T.V. lounge, library, and gymnasium with weekly supervised fitness classes for older people, plus a weekly art class. We provide access to Wi-Fi for free.

Gardens

The Estate Gardens have been laid out for the use and benefit of all the residents and guests. The maintenance of these gardens is the responsibility of the Estate Team, however, we welcome volunteers who can really help keep the grounds looking nice. To encourage residents to get involved we provide raised beds so they can help grown vegetables and plants. Our fresh produce is used in the kitchen and distributed to residents living in the bungalows and flats.

Guest Rooms

Guest rooms are available for the use of relatives and friends who are visiting you; there is a small charge for this service. Meals can be booked in advance with the office and costs will be confirmed at the time of booking. Bed linen and towels are provided with tea/coffee making facilities in the guest rooms.

Transport

The charity provides a limited transport service for shopping, medical appointments etc. The minibus visits Cranleigh on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, plus to either Godalming or Horsham on a Friday.

In addition transport is provided for trips out and to events that residents are regularly invited to.
